anyone with an x70 want to post or email me pictures taken with the x70 so i can get an idea the quality and size?

my x70 has a30 firmware...

here is a pic i took with the 0.03 mp camera mode 132x176 something like this

the grey area at the bottom is my finger semi-blocking the lens

lol since i changed to fido, i haven't been able to set up the gprs/mms.... the settings in the fido forum for my x70 are not complete; useless.

Size can be changed to 2x that with the latest firmware, but it is still pretty small

ya lost but with the 2x sized pics, the camera refresh rate is slow and you gotta hold the phone really still to take a good pic... my a30 firmware allows me to take pics at the 2x size

personally, I believe that the camera sux much worse than my gd87. Nearly unusable, but then again, I would not care if they took that feature out of the phone. I rarely used it after I got over the novelty. Even for X700, I could really give a care about the 640x480 resolution (although the pictures were quite nice from another posting here). I would prefer to save a couple of bucks and not have the camera..but I will take the other features.
As for the original posting. You can get a $90 digital that takes pictures better than any phone. I would go that route for ebay.

The thing is GD87's camera is able to produce a better picture quality than the x70 and this is a fact. I have yet to see if Panasonic would be able to produce a better phone which has a better digital camera in it. After all, newer phones nowdays are equipped with a digital camera or better still... 1.3MP.

Please tell me the rough number of 1.3 or greater megapixel cameras on the market. Bet there are not many...at least right now. People said GD87 was doomed for it's small pictures, but it was the best selling phone that Panasonic has produced to date. I will bet that X700 sells just fine with a 640x480 camera in it. And as we have seen in other postings, the camera blows GD87 away in clarity!

honestly, how many people use their phone as a digital camera?
i dunno about guys but i have a 4MP camera for when i want to take pictures.
like someone said, it's jus a novelty item, even if it had a 1mp camera, i'd still use my 4mp digital camera

nobody uses their phone as a digital camera... anyone who does is silly kuz then can buy a 3 or 4 mega pix camera for way cheaper than a 1 mp camera phone.

i agree with the dude who said the x700 will do just fine... until built in phone memory gets alot bigger anythin with 1 mp or more is sucky kuz you cant keep that many pics. i guess with SD, this argument is moot tho.

assuming that camera phones' cameras are just for fun a 640x480 camera will do fine and is most likely ideal.

i think a good quality 4x6 print is printed at 270dpi. a 2mp camera takes 1600x1200 (1600/270= 5.8ish by 1200/270=4.7ish). if all you are doing is showing your pics on a computer screen, a VGA camera will work perfectly and look no worse than a 1mp camera phone's pic (@ 640X480).

even the best 1.3 mp cameraphone will produce a crap 4x6 if printed, so there is simply no point in using your phone camera as a regular use digital camera.

nx2k, this message is not against u... i just hate when people talk about using their camera phone as a digital camera. maybe in 5 years it wont be so silly, but for now... i think its a bit silly.

i believe japan has phones up to 2mp with 2x optical (kougaku) zoom, but im not too sure... with japan already being 3 yrs ahead of us or more

But I think most got the point. Earlier in this thread is was remarked that a person was using their camera phone for ebay. BTW, you really do not need anything better than 640x480 pictures. Most are significantly smaller so a 1MP or greater camera phone is useless for this anyway.
