Hey all,

I have a few games for my gx30 on my website, and when i try to go to the wap site on my phone and click the links, my phone just displays the text of the jad file, and doesnt download the jars....
Ive tried directly linking to the jars, and the phone comes back with "unsuported content"

Hi Rob, good to have you on board.

Well you need to set the MIME type of JAD on your web server. The correct line in your /etc/mime.types file (if you are using Apache on linux) is:

text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad

and you also need to have JAR's covered by these MIME types:

application/java-archive jar
application/java jar

Also do a search through your file to make sure you don't have any of the old jar types in there. If you find them, delete them. They'll look like "application/x-java-archive". The X is used before they become official.

You'll probably have to restart the web server to make sure the MIME types are read in.

hey ..i just signed up for this forum after reading your post..is it really possible to save the games to your wap site and download direct to fone? if so..please can i download from your site? cos i dont have the expertise to create my own wap site yet...please please...(if its possible)
