There used to be a Yahoo Messenger Java client I used a while back that worked off GPRS. Even back then, it worked intermittently - not always reliable. With all the changes made by T-Mobile in the past months, I'm not sure if it will still work EVEN with a paid subcription to T-Zones.
You might be better off just using the SMS-based YM service.
