860 Ringtone Problem

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Well I figured out how to do ringtones using the same pogram that I used on my 730. Everything downloads onto the phones no problem but for some reason the wavs only play for 2 secs and then stop. THey are all about 25-30 secs why are they only playing for 2 secs then stopping is there some sort of change in need to make to the phones or webjal setting.

Thanks
KRis

Why are you still messing with WAV files since you have an 860? It does do MP3's ya know.

The MP3 format should be 8000 / 48kps / mono.

Not all programs save the file properly. I've noticed with I had a 730 or 830, WAV files would not work if saved with some programs. But programs like Goldwave save it out properly. So maybe try that.

That's using db audio converter right? Also, what program would I be need to be using to edit out the part of the song that I want?

No, I use Goldwave to edit the ringtones, and it saves it out to whatever freq you want. So it does it all.

Goldwave can be downloaded at www.goldwave.com

-I'm having the same problem as KRis. I can upload the wav files onto my i860, but when I go to play them, the wav plays ok for the first 5 seconds, then it goes quiet until the last 5 seconds when it starts playing normally. I have no clue where to start figuring out what the prob is.

I have tried remaking the wav, using WinAmp to convert the file from an mp3 to a wav, then using Cool Edit Pro 2.0 to chop and downsample the wav. I have done this again and again and still no luck. I don't understand this considering i can upload the same file onto an i730 and it plays with no problems. Someone PLEASE help me, I dont know how much longer I can stand the Doo Pee Doo ringer. Thanks

Well considering I said in a few i860 threads that Goldwave works great, then just try that. Unless you like self punishment.

im having trouble uploading mp3 files that i make onto my i860. I have used the search button and read multiple threads on how to upload. I know that i have to set it to 48kbp/8000/mono. I have set the baud connection to my phone at 19200. I have used cool edit pro 2.0 and goldwave. I used razorlame to set the mp3, i have deleted the i3d tags and picked which part of the song i wanted with goldwave and saved it for 48000/8000/mono. I still get the same error that i have been getting before. General communications error. I made sure the properties on webjal are correct... I can download other people's mp3s, but just not the one i generate. Any ideas anyone? thanks!
