i860 wav problems

I am in desperate need of help. When I upload wav files on my i860, they appear fine but when I go to play them the song is messed up. The wav starts out ok but after 5 seconds go by, the song goes blank and stops playing until the last 4 seconds when it starts playing again.

I have tried remaking the wav, using WinAmp to convert the file from an mp3 to a wav, then using Cool Edit Pro 2.0 to chop and downsample the wav. I have done this again and again and still no luck. I have even tried converting the wav to an mp3 file using dBpower Music Converter, hoping it will play fine, but the song still has the pause mid-way through it. I don't understand this considering i can upload the same wav file onto an i730 and it plays with no problems. Someone PLEASE help me, I dont know how much longer I can stand the Doo Pee Doo ringer. Thanks

Why not upload as mp3???

Posted by: Drinkslikephife

I tried doing that already and it kept giving me erorr message and i tried switching my baud rate levels but the wav files are still loading corrupted, and now I can't even load mp3. The same goes for wallpapers, everyone I load comes out corrupted.

I think the problem has to be webjal. Could someone tell me what version of webjal you need to upload onto an i860

I am having the same problem. My desktop has the 2.0 USB bus speed. And thats the computer I have the problems with. I use my older laptop which has the 1.1 bus speed and it works fine. The only other difference between the two machines is one has Windows XP SP2 (Desktop), and the other has SP1 (Laptop). I have been looking for an old USB interface card that has the old 1.1 technology to test that in desktop, but i have not found one yet. When I do find one and test it. I will let follow up!

Well after hours of trying to get these rings to work, I think the problem has to be with webjal. The wavs I am using are intact and when i load them to an i730 using xxxxx, they load and play as they should. But still when I use webjal to load on my i860, they are still loading corrupted files. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling webjal and still no luck.

Anyone have any ideas to help me, I am running out of ideas here. I really dont wanna have to pay $2 per ringtone, but they way this is shaping up, looks like i might have to.

I just tried uploading a midi file onto my i860 and it loaded correctly. So does this mean it is a problem with my wavs I am trying to upload?

The problem is a weird issue with whatever WebJAL server you are using.

So how does one go about fixing this problem???

Same boat here plus they sound like ××××. What to do next?

Posted by: Skydrmline

BTW i am using the latest edition of webjal with teknidudes patcher and a serial cable.

Also, webjal is not letting me select jpegs as valid format types for wall paper. Gifs are the only available option.

And when i tried to load an MP3 made with gold weave my 860 cycled off then on...WTF is going on here? I saved with proper format.

Any help would be nice before i break this phone over the kids face who sold me this phone.

ANY WAV file problem can be solved.

Try loading the ringtone through the wallpaper app on webjal.

While no wav's show up to add, you must type *.wav and press enter in order to see the wavs.

Then add, and download..

I was having endless problems with my wavs just cutting out, but now they work perfectly!!!

If only i could figure out the ×××× wallpaper bug.

I am gettin really PO'd with this program. I load an .mp3 ringtone on to the phone fine. I go to play it and it plays for about half the ringtone and the ring stops and the phone resets itself. I tryed loading the ring with the wallpaper loader and that worked for about 15 min and now its doesn't work anymore. Does any one have an answer to this?

Load ringtones through the wallpaper section of webjal. It work for me with my i860. I'm using Tek's webjal version 3 with webjal patch. Got all my ringtones, games and such on WiMatt forums.

Click add in the wallpaper section.
When it asks for file name, type *wav and click open.
All the wav files will show up.
Click on the wav file you want.
Then click download.
Done.

Whoever suggested this is a genius.

I have an i830 and the files transfer fine when doing th *.wav trick in Webjal, but when I go to ringtones, they are not listed. I did the other trick where you just renamed the .wav to .mid and then it will upload fine under the regular ringtones menu. THey play on the phone, however they do skip after a couple of seconds and I've read other people having the same problem. Anyway, can someone explain how I delete the .wav files off of my phone because they dont show up in the ringtone list, but they are taking up space because I can see my memory going down. Do I have to use RSS, and if so, can someone point me in the direction of where in RSS do I go to find the files.

Thanks

one option you have is to create blank file named exactly the same thing and re-send it to the phone. You can also use the recover feature in RSS, but that will erase everythin on the phone.
