Kyocera Sliding mechanism

I recently bought the kyocera SE44 for the us cellular network and the phone is pretty nice overall. The only thing i am wondering about is the sliding mechanism. I have been told not to worry about it and that it should last. I have noticed already with minimal usage that the slide is changing already. It seems to click up and stay there easily, but when you slide it back down, it is easy to open it. It also has a degree of wobble in it. Is this wobble normal? Does anyone have any detailed instruction to tighten or replace the sliding mechanism?

nbruggink, I've had my slider for about four months and the slide works as good as new. It did loosen up a little bit which made it easier to open and close but it still has a strong click that holds the phone open and closed. I can physically move the part that slides up a little bit when it's open, but nothing objectionable, and the movement doesn't seem to affect the functionality of the phone. I personally don't feel you have anything to worry about. It's been a good phone for me.

i've had my slider for almost a year, taken it apart 4 times, and my Keystroke Counter is at 990,000. Still works great.

If you are darring enough you can take appart your phone and on the sliding part there is a screw(s). Tighten it(them). Not too sure on this, but when i was just VMHacker a long time ago i saw this in a post. My slider hasn't died yet...

Yeah. I've taken mine apart many times. I like it best when I only snug the screws becuase I like it to slide fairly easily.

But if you tighten the screws a bit, it will make the sliding more firm/rigid. (Just don't tighten too much or you'll crack the case)
