How many LED's does the 7190 have? Wanting to change colour. Also a funny thing happens on occassion. I will set it to a profile and when I turn it off then back on the profile resets back to normal mode. Any idea why? Thanks

Hi

Which Version do you have ?

First make Factory reste with Nokiatool or somethinng, then try to make update to the last 3.03 NSB-5

First make a full Flash Update, I have on, that not run with this Software ( Made 7/1999 )

71xx have 4 LEDS in the Sreen, and 6 in the Keyboard.

Look here in http://www.blue-backlight.de/led7110.htm

In German for 7110, but the same as 7190

That's correct. There are four 1206 LEDs for the display and six 0603's for the keypad. You can do the whole phone with 0805's if you really know what you're doing.

Hey! How is US Cellular for you?

Where are you located?

Thanks a lot for all your help. Which other phones lights are compatible? Like 61xx lights will work on it, 3390, etc. That way when buying from site and they don't have 7190 listed will any others work good? I am having them profesionally installed. Too good of a phone to mess up. Anyone know where to get replacement faceplates? My screen got scratec and want a new one

Make sure you have bright 1206 LEDs for the Display, the 51/61 Leds are too dark, you can them use for the Keypad.

And if you don't have very good solder experience, you not do it, see the Pictures in the link below.

Accord,

The LCD crystal is NOT part of the faceplate (like some other models), it is part of the LCD assembly. You can get a replacement from All4Cell.

Ryan,

I'm not very impressed with US Cell. No WAP support, no EMAIL gateway, and a pretty low-tech approach to cellular support.

On the other hand, they have the best tower support out here in the lake country, west of Milwaukee... which is the only reason why I suffer through them.

It's not my LCD that is scratched. It is the lens on the faceplate. As far as I know the phone has never been opened.

Anybody know a good site to get the leds from?

Like I said, the lens (crystal) is NOT part of the faceplate. It is part of the LCD assembly. If you get a new faceplate you will not get a new lens with it.

Actually the last one I did, I stacked two 1206 (8 in total) right-angle LED's on top of each other for the display - bright! And the 71xx series definitely needs help on the display brightness, kinda like the 3390. I'd recommend using right-angle LED's if you can get them, the lensing that they use definitely minimizes 'hot-spots' on the backlighting.
