hey, yah i just bought one off ebay the other week for one cent plus s&h, they gave me a cd with mine, its a green cd with 7 white stripes on it, and all it says on it is "USB DATA CABLE DRIVER" and in red it says new, and it says it was made in china. I'm wondering if you got the same cord as me. The package mine came in was green and looked like a motherboard chip thingy. If you got the same one or something similar, can you please tell me what Operating System you are running, and perhaps you could email me the drivers you got with your cord. Because everytime i try to connect to bitpim it won't. haha, it just says sumthing about it not finding anything on comX (x being w/e number), i've tried going into the device manager and changing it and then trying again but haven't had any success. Any help from you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again

Yep exactly the same cable...

im running xp

but same thing happened to me,,

what you gotta do is set the com speed on the phone to
19200 and set the port speed the same on your pc.

then it worked for me,,
im using bitpim for uploading files but using kyoroca wireless pst
for my addressbook

hope this helps

hey thanks alot for the help, but sadly it didn't work. I tried re-installing the drivers, i did as you said and set my phone's com port speed to 19.2kbps and on the computer 19200, and then tried to sync it, but it kept comming up with "LG-VX4400 on COM6: The Phone is not responding while transitioning mode from none to brew. See the help for troubleshooting tips." I've tried several different ports but none seem to work. Which port are you using? This thing is frustrating me so bad, usually i dont get stumped by little things like cords, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Thanks again. Oh, heres the driver i'm using, is urs the same? PL-2303, its a prolific usb-to-serial comm driver, the date on mine is 2003-7-16, the version is 2.0.0.18. Thanks again.

yes, same drivers as me,,, but mine is on com4, in bitpim under the edit tab i had to choose 'other CDMA phone' in the phone type pull down list, then i clicked the browse button on the com port line and saw the 'prolific usb-to-serial com port' was on com 4, i then typed 'com4' in the 'com port box' and then said ok,

make sure the 'filesystem tab' is there, if not enable it under view,
open the 'filesystem' tab and click the '+' and it should work,

well thats how it worked for me,,

there is a forum here somewhere on how to use bitpim which was very helpful,,, putting on sounds was a bit more difficult tho,,
i ended up downloading a sound ringer to see where it was stored so i could put my files in the same spot,,,
worked ok in the end

hope this helps.
