What are they? MIDI MP3 or neither?
I'm asking because it seems that all the custom Ringers I tried to load into the phone are 50% quieter than built in melodies. Is it because phone intreprtes those files differently, or maybe built in melodies use custom MIDI instruments that can only be understood by phone's chipset? Is it possible to make a custom MIDI that will be as loud as Ring1?

Thanks in advance!

Just use the sound recorder feature on windows and increse the volume of your midi. and resave back to phone....

hehe wish it was that easy Sound recorder doesn't work with MIDI, it works with WAV files. BTW I increased MP3 file volumes to the max and they are still not as loud as built in songs. I haven't actually played with MIDI volume, cuase I don't have editing program for MIDI files

I have used CDex to convert mp3 to wav and used sound recorder to increase volume then reconverted them back to mp3 and when I put them on my phone they crackeled cause they were so loud... you have to keep increaseing the volume in sound recorder just keep ging to edit and increase by 50% over and over again to get it as loud as you want....

That's called clipping. You have to use "Maximize" function in your audio editing app...
BTW, when convert MP3 to WAVE back and fourth you loose a lot of quality due to recompression. There's a utility called MP3 Gain that allows to ajust volume of MP3 files.
