Can anyone point me to an app to convert the V710 movie format (.3g2) to .avi and vice-versa?

You can do it in Apple's Quicktime MoviePlayer. You just "Export" from one format to another. I think you need the Pro version, which is $29.00. It supports a 100 or so movie types. Including 3g2.

Microsoft probably has a movie exporter somewhere on their windows mediaplayer site.

If you got a PC, Nokia's FREE Multimedia Player can open .avi and save out as .3g2. Download it for free:

http://www.miworld.com.sg/mplayer/nokia_mplayer.exe

That should get you started.

Right now, for generic DIVX porn. I first save it in Dr. DIVX. I then convert to MPEG4 with MovieCleaner Pro 5. Then I open in Quicktime and save as 3g2.

I am really curious, but why do you go through Dr. Divx first, and then to MovieCleaner Pro 5? Is it just a perfection in quality? I usually just encode it via the divx codec in VirtualDub, and then just open it up in Quicktime. Though I am about to find to look for a better way then using Quicktime. Because I have seen some Videos with flawless fast movement compared to alot of artifacts, and 90% of the time I am getting tons of artifacts with movies encoded at a 160kb bit rate.

ER, click the open button to open the AVI
The go File > Save As and the only file type you can save as is 3gp. 3gp is GSM. 3g2 is CDMA. Same format. Nokia being GSM gives the .3gp extension. Just change it.

I was converting the One Night in Paris (Hilton) into 3g2. The version I have was an AVI compressed with XVID. MovieCleaner nor MoviePlayer could open it. So I open with Dr. DIVX. Saved to DIVX (because that's all you can do). Open the DIVX with Movie Cleaner and saved to MPG4. That made a giant 30 minute file. Open the MPG4 with Quicktime Player pro and cropped the part that counts and saved to 3G2. And now I have Paris Hilton giving a hummer on my phone.

Save yourself the time and just go to:

The application I downloaded from your link does not have FILE>SAVE AS in the FILE menu.

Under FILE there is OPEN, SAVE PLAYLIST, SAVE ATTACHEMENT (grayed) and EXIT.

Sorry mate, don't know what to tell you.

But you've heard, what 5 tools mentioned.

Quicktime MoviePlayer
Media Cleaner Pro
Dr. Divx
Nokia Multimedia Studio
Virtual Dub

That should point you in at least the right direction.

Here's a screenshot of the Nokia Multimedia Player. Version 1.1 That what I use. With "Save As"

Nokie Multimedia Studio (Free)

Apple Quicktime
http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,48238...ktime/download/

Serial Number for Quicktime Pro:

That should get you there.
