The N-gage qd has been out in Germany for a long time already so i decided to make a review for it. All coments welcome!!

The newer, smaller N-gage qd is smaller in size. It is just a simplified version of the original.

1. Size

The new QD as stated before is smaller than the original. It is not much smaller but thicker

Smaller due to not having as much features as the original. Thicker due to the new battery being used, the BL-6C. The newer QD´, like the original, is very similar to a Gameboy Advance. Not SP but a normal one.

2. Design

The QD design concept is brand new. New keypad. New housing. New ideas. I found this an interesting idea from Nokia, that is actually what got me to buying the QD. The rubber around the QD is better if your going to be gaming hardcore.

Everything from the design standpoint was almost perfect. Until this.............. while I was gaming I would sometimes reach back and touch the back of the N-gage QD and there was the slipperiest piece of plastic you could imagine.

3. Features

Features.... well not the best part of the QD. No radio, no mp3. But new ideas or concepts, whatever you want to call it. Hotswap was a new idea.

It fixed the way you had to change games from the original. This was very good if you were a hardcore gamer.

Sidetalking was also changed. This was the worst idea nokia ever had, sidetalking. http://www.sidetalkin.com/ That was stupid but now its fixed.

A camera was also anticipated from nokia to heal the wound from no mp3s or radio. But that didn't happen. Would have been nice.

4. Gaming

Since the release of the QD. Nokia has been and will be releasing more games. Colin Mcrae Rally 2005, call of duty, worms world party and much more.

5. The Verdict

Finally the end. My verdict is bad!!!!! It is not a phone its a toy. I was not at all happy with the new N-gage QD. Since it came out a new Phone disease appeared. W.S.O.D. My phone got this and I was told it would take about 1 month to repair it. I would not recommend it to anyone. If you are buying it for gaming, DON'T!!! Buy this: Sony PSP!!! Much better.

Interesting and decently quick review. I like how you used images for comparisons. But i'm not sure what the problem is with the back being slippery. I never noticed it until you mention it.

About the QD, I never really considered it a phone and I dont think people should buy it to use as a phone. It was more of a hand held game system(with PS1 generation gfx) that had celluar phone capabilities, internet capabilities along with video and mp3. This is the only system that has this right now and it serves it purpose really well. I'm sure theres gonna be some stiff competition when the PSP and Nintendo's hand held things comes out.....

The only bad thing is that Nokia decided to use MMC - since all their other phones uses it. This lead to tons of warezing since at least half of all Ngage users dont have to spend a dime on getting any games...if they know where to look.
