I download audio books from Audible.com to my mp3 player (it comes down in a proprietary audible format, not mp3) and now that i am thinking about getting a smartphone, i was wondering if audible is compatible with smartphones. they apparently work with pocket pc, but i don't know about smartphone. anyone know?

My understanding is that Audible does work with the Spring Samsung i600. Don't know about any other smartphones though -- anybody else have any information on this?

Hmmm. Here's the press release about the i600. I didn't see any Windows Mobile listed as supported on Audible's site though.

AudiiblePlayer was an included application on my sprint branded samsung i600.
when i check the about box it says "AudiblePlayer 4.0 (Smartphone)". since it is running on mu i600 i would be inclined to say version 4.0 would work.
i never really checked it out before and i am listening to the audible.com sample file.
peace out,
