Who here is waiting for a Kyocera Koi?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I know I am. I got a slider because to me, all flip phones look exactly the same button wise. The slider and Koi changes it up a little with a new way to open your phone and button design.

I CANT WAIT! Anyone know release date?

"late summer '04"
"fall '04"

I can't wait for the KOI to come out either. Even though my slider is pretty new( 7 months old; 100,000 keypresses) it has a lot of ware and tear. The new houseing put some more months on it, but the slideing mechonism is starting to get very weak. It will stay up and down good, but once you get pased what ever holds it up and down, it slides WAY too easily. I really want a camera phone too. I didn't really want one before, but I went to the mall on a rainy day with my friend who wants a camera phone and we looked at about a billion camera phones, I WANT ONE now...lol

Yeah, Sliderdude - my 2 month old Slider is also feelig ready to fall apart. For the sake of innocent consumers everywhere I hope verizon doesn't release the Koi

Koi will be priced at $249-299 (USD)

look at page 98 of the november issue of Popular Mechanics.

holy crap thats a lot

But the Koi is so hot!

I wanted a slider from Verizon, but just as soon as I made up my mind, they dropped it from their list of availables and haven't brought it back

For now, I'm stuck with my brick until something interesting (Koi) come out and Verizon offers it.

All flip phones look the same. I don't like them!

I don't want another brick or candy bar!
I'd go with the Treo, but that's some real money and a screen that's not as nice as today's simple phones.

I'll wait- the brick is holding it's own.

The KX2 would make a very nice addition to Virgin Mobile. $219 would be in the all park for their top of the line phone. I would buy it, but vm would lock it down so you cant get in it. Does that phone to brew or java?

maybe $180... Virgin usually doesn't make a profit when they sell phones (which is why the se47 was $150 on virgin a month before it was on any other us provider)

Just ordered the Koi from Verizon.
Maybe I'll have it next week...
