I have a brand new VX4500 and a cable from FutureDial. I am using BitPim to try and add phone numbers and ringtones but I get the following error messages

For phone numbers:
"17:07:26.246 LG-VX4400: Appending entry Colleen
17:07:26.556 LG-VX4400: Failed to add Colleen - make sure the entry has at least one phone number"

For Ring Tones
"An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to make it work?!? My roommate has the same phone and uses BitPim and I am using his cable and it works for him but not me.

did you go to settings on your phone menu and set your phone speed to 115200 and RSC232 port

are you using his computer

make sure you do a GET DATA before you try to add anything to the phone.

btpim has to have the correct current dtat files/directoies fronm the phone before it can change anything

have you compared software versions with his phone..
you may have a different ver of the phones operating system and hence need to tweak bitpims ssettings

or use a different driver
