Choosing between WAP and Internet APN for My Friends and Remote Sync. settings

As we all know, WAP and Internet GPRS traffic is priced differently by operators across the globe. By Internet GPRS traffic I mean the one which is routed trough Internet APN (e.g. when we access Internet from laptop using GPRS). In some countries WAP traffic is cheaper than Internet, in others it is vice verse.
By default, SE phones (and my T630 in particular use WAP profiles for My Friends and Remote Sync. applications. This is a problem for people whose operators price WAP traffic higher than Internet GPRS (e.g. with my operator WAP is twice as expensive as Internet).
My question is whether it is possible to set up My Friends and Remote Sync. to use Internet APNs. The first solution coming to mind is to set up a WAP profile having Internet APN in data account specified in “Connect using”. But then the problem is in the wap gateway IP address that also has to be specified. I am not sure that the server through which the Internet traffic is being routed (Internet APN) has such a thing at all.
I’ve tried to do to things:
1) input the same IP as in the WAP settings
2) leaving it blank
... but the applications do not work with either solution.

Can anyone help me? Did anyone tried to solve this problem? Seems to be challenging enough.))

Thanks a lot,

Ross

did you resolve this?

i've got a t630, a valid and working wap profile, but when i try to sync to a remote server, i get a "connection interrupted" message, and my server does not detect any attempts at a connection.

thanks!
