try this:

I got it to work and let me tell you how i did it. I have a verizon 8900.

Keep in mind that the settings phone settings for connecting as modem and connect with Brewskey or BITPIM are different.

That looks like the radioshack cable for the LG VX6000 and that is the one I bought for $22. it uses the future dial drivers. in one of the other posts, there is a USBinstaller.EXE file that install the right drivers. I could not find it on the website. You do need to select LG VX6000 as your phone.

To get it to work with BitPim and Brewsky:
Hit ##7678 and then the END key. Make sure you are set DIAG to UART MAIN and DATA to USB DATA. This is the default that my phone comes up in when I turn it off and on. Connect you phone and direct it to the correct com port and hit the connect button. Mines is set to COM4.

Keep in mind with BITPIM, you can only browse the file system. Brewskey seems to be better although when I sent an MP3 up, it wiped out all my saved MID ringers.

To get it to work as a modem. install the QUICKLINK software as a LG VX6000. This software installs the phone as a modem and installs a Dial UP Networking phone book entry on your computer.

hit ##7678 and then END. Change the DIAG to NULL PORT and DATA to RS232C.

When you launch the QuickLink software, it should be able to read your battery and Signal strength.

goodluck!

let us know if it worked

##port <end> doesn't seem to do anything for me, comes up with the entry on the display, and then clears upon getting the end character. I'm using the latest version of verizon's firmware, 131.038. BitPim loads up and connects fine, outputs the following:

17:43:05.463 COM5: Opening port COM5, 115200 baud, timeout 3.000000, hardwareflow 0, softwareflow 0
17:43:05.473 COM5: Open of comm port suceeded
17:43:05.473 LG-VX6000: Attempting to contact phone
17:43:05.483 LG-VX6000: Listing dir ''
17:43:18.542 LG-VX6000: GMM: AT+GMM

CDM-9900

OK
A
17:43:21.566 LG-VX6000: Now in brew mode

I then close BitPim and load up Brewsky, and after switching to Com5, hit connect. Brewsky trys to download my sound file, but theres an error and it fails.

Interestingly, the filesystem on the phone is extremely sparse, there are two subdirectories under root, NVM and VoiceDB. Presumably, there should be another subdirectory under NVM for my pictures and tones and such, but there are only two files, ERI.BIN and PRL.BIN.

When I leave BitPim open, Brewsky will act like its downloading the necessary file (IE: camera/CameraInfo.dat) but never moves anywhere or times out. Any suggestions?

do you have an 8900 or a 9900? they are 2 totally different phones even though they are audiovox branded.

my instructions were for a 8900

would be great if it worked with a 9900 but i think the file structure is totally different.
