Wireless Headset Available For Slider?

Does anyone know if there is a wireless headset that is compatible with the kyocera slider? I know the slider isnt bluetooth enabled (which sucks!) but i have heard of a wireless headset system that has an adapter to make non-bluetooth phones into bluetooth enabled. But on some sites i see that it is "universal for all phones with a 2.5mm headset jack" and on another site it says "will not work with kyocera, nextel, samsung, etc. phones". So i dont know which site to believe. Does anyone use a wireless headset with their slider or know for a definite if there is one on the market that is compatible and works? Thanks!

I've been using the Jabra BT200 with the Kyocera SE47 Slider. The headset works fine except you can't activate voice dialing from the headset unless the Slider is attached to an external power source. You can first activate the Slider, then everything works as expected. The headset receives fine. For the headset to activate voice dialing, the "wake up" feature needs to work. But, that feature only works when the Slider is attached to an external power source and not under normal battery function. I'm not sure why Kyocera doesn't allow for "wake up" under battery function.

that's strange... maybe so one can roam around your home/business and make calls while it is charging, but when it's not plugged in, it is assumed that you have the phone in your pocket, so it is easier to type it in.... I find it strange that it is disabled. have you tried emailing Kyocera about it?

I agree, it is odd programming. I have contacted Kyocera customer support. The rep confirmed the feature as stated. She did not seemed phased at the oddity. It would be nice to get to a higher level tech to discuss this illogical setup.

I got the following response from Kyocera to my question about activating voice dial from the Jabra BT200 headset. As I already knew from experience, there is no way to initiate the Slider from a headset without being attached to an external power source. As such, it is likely that the headsets advertised on the Kyocera website don't work either in this condition.

Thank you for contacting Kyocera Wireless Corporation. We apologize for the inconvenience that you are experiencing with your Kyocera Wireless slider SE47 phone.

This email message is in response to your inquiry regarding voice dial feature of your slider phone. Voice Recognition is normally utilized when your phone is attached to a hands-free car kit (installed or portable). When utilizing the hands-free car kit, you may say the phrase "Wake-up" twice and you should be prompted for voice dialing.

Voice Recognition may also be utilized when using a hands free headset. You may press the Send key to initiate the Voice Dialing feature. The Wake-up command will not function with a headset unless there is external power attached, such as a car power adapter.

If this response does not answer your question completely or if you have further questions, please contact us at the phone numbers listed below:
