MOK 8410 or Alternative

I'm looking for the software that is included in the Mobile Office Kit from Audiovox for my 8410. I'd like to sync my Outlook contacts - I'm not internested in ringtones, games, or pictures. I bought a cable from www.cellphoneshop.net - the order form was for the 8410, but the cable clearly says "8900". So far, my PC has identified the phone, so it *appears* to work. I used the curitel drivers from their website. I've also tried to use the PC Sync from Curitel, but it's garbage. Curitel PC Sync

I've also read about people having some success with BITPIM, but that's mostly for the 8900. <sigh> My carrier is ALLTEL. So, if anyone has any advice to make this work with Outlook, I'm all ears.

I'm looking for some software like this too. I already have a data cable and I just want to be able to sync my contacts with Outlook or another program. Any ideas?

bitpim works on 8900s and 8410s but the contacts/address book features do not.

So - what's the point of using it if it doesn't work?

Ok. Seems to me nobody has MOK8410 CD Rom image. I'm begining to hate this phone! I was hoping for a free alternative, but as I stated Earlier: BitPIM & Curitel PC Sync simply don't cut it. I'd be willing to buy a used copy of the Audiovox MOK8410 if someone had it for sale. Am I the only one with this dilemma? Why have a data port on the phone if it doesn't work with anything?

Well... This phone sucks major ××××... i have both QPST, UNI PST and have used bitpim with vox editor... When i write the download-snd.txt and set the correct permissions, repower then attempt to access my downloaded ringtones it displays the first one, the rest blank, the last in some foreign characters and i am unable to listen to any... if i attempt to go down up etc, select or anything i get a odd normal ring tone not of any that is default on the phone, its quite soft as well... Ive done extensive research on this phone, followed smith's guide and others and ive yet to get a single ××××ing thing to work.... 1000% grade A trash phone.. Im with alltel also, great service, poor phone. Sprint and others have been my best to go through when modding, etc.

If you need that quicklink mobile soft contact me, ill gladly give it up to YOU. I have a masssssive amount of software and russian programmers creating anything (currently doing all siemens). So... those of you looking for cheaper better alternatives than cdmasoftware.com loook forward to posts from me. Im new to the cell world but not to other industries, rest assured.

I have to agree. I hate this phone. Since I'm too cheap to break my contact with Alltell, I'm going to stick with it for the remainder of my contract (just under two years now). Dammit.

I enjoy the service too - but this phone has got to go!

I've sent you a private msg. I want the software. What do I have to do to get it?

I went to the Verizon store yesterday and he took one look at me and the phone that was in my hand and said "Alltel."

Verizon's plans don't match Alltel's at all, but the phone selection is much better. I like that new Motorola V710 but $250?!?! Ouch.

I can get a new phone on Dec. 8 and I'm looking at the LG LX5550 'cause I like the look and features. No camera though :-(

I don't think I'll ever get an Audiovox phone again after dealing with the 8410.
