1) i've searched and couldn't find a clear answer, is it possible to use this thing on irc? anyone have any direct experience with this? can you leave it on 24/7 on an irc channel and backscroll?

2) just how slow/difficult is it to read/post to message boards such as this one or an ezboard? t-mobile's data network leaves a lot to be desired :/

3) can you insert pics you take easily into direct IM conversations over AIM? (do you have to close out aim to take a picture?)

You can not IRC on it through any direct means (yet), no. I don't know if T-Mobile will deliver some kind of IRC program or not. I doubt it though.

With this in mind, though, you have AIM. It's an execelent AIM client. No, you can't send pictures through it, but you can via email. The reasons are because of a proxy server that sits between the Sidekick and the AIM servers. The proxy does all the work of keeping you online, and your AIM subclient on your SK talks to the proxy. A very good solution to losing signal on occasions.

With this in mind, if they implimented some kind of IRC client, they'd have to proxy it for it to be worth anything. That requires testing time and whatnot.

But the final solution to all this is the Terminal Client, an ssh/telnet client. If you don't know what this is, though, I wouldn't put any hopes in it. You can download it (for a price).
