Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Originally posted by CestMoi Again, I thank you for trying to help me, but I don't think you understand. I have tried various email accounts to send the .mid file to my cell phone. They all make it to the phone just fine, but then when I try to open the message, it says: "unsupported content type application/octet-stream filename.mid" So I can send the msgs just fine; I can attach the .mid files just fine....I simply cannot open them once they reach my phone, nor can I save them, because they will not even appear on my screen. I am trying to see if someone can tell me a way to set up my phone differently so that they will accept, or a different way of sending, so that they will accept on my phone. It sounds as though I am doing everything ok, or at least in the same manner as everyone else posting here, but my phone is not accepting/reading the files. Thanks again. |

Originally posted by digijoel I have the same problem (unsupported content). I think it must have something to do with the phones software (firmware?). Luckily I purchased a data cable or I would most likely be insane by this point. |

Originally posted by Grondar Can you included a picture and ringtone in the same message, or must the file attachments all be of the same file format to work properly? |

Originally posted by Bloodbath This is just my lousy 2 cents about this whole ringtone thing. I know some people say that $0.25 is cheap to send ringtones/wallpapers/pics from the phone, and I would agree. However, why shouldn't I be able to just use a data cable and do it myself from my PC? I bought the phone and own it. I do not /can't hurt thier system by just dragging pics/ringtones to and from my phone to my computer. I'm in the opinion, as some others are, that Verizon is greedy and kinda screwing its customers in this way. I guess this just makes me sound like a cheap *******, but really it's more the principle behind the whole thing. Sorry for wasting everyone's time with my small rant. |

Originally posted by jessep07 Alright, I set up an account with mail2world.com and I was able to send a ringtone to my new audiovox cdm9900...i receive the message and the ringtone PLAYS, but I can't SAVE it! I try to save it as a sound, but all it says is "Media Gallery is Full." I deleted virtually all of the tones and pictures that came on the phone, and it STILL says this! PLEASE HELP ME! I'M REALLY FRUSTRATED!!!!! By the way, the midi file is about 176kb... |

Originally posted by Bloodbath I used Outlook to send 3 ringtones to my 9900 and had no problem. I also did not convert them to midi. They sound a little worse than when I sent them to my VX6000, but other than that, all was good. If anything, the files seem to be of smaller size (they were 48Kb when I sent them, but only were 25 on my phone), which may explain the loss of quality. If anyone knows why it changed, please let me know. |
