I Have had my SK2 since the release date and have not been able to use it for the main reason I bought it yet. I need to be able to get AOL mail directly to my SK2 and be notified when it comes. I know you can use the webbrowser and go to www.aol.com and check your mail there, but that is a pain and you dont get a notification when you recieve email.

Second I know you can send up a pop account to come directly into the mail menu of the SK2 and designate a folder for aol mail. When I follow the instruction manual on how to do this I get the error message " Could not verify login information" so I tried the 3rd option

The 3rd option is to download the AOL mail icon to the jump screen through the catolouge and I did so. When i get mail I am notified but if the mail is from a AOL email adress when i try to read the email all that is visible is the Email Adress ( AOL screename ) of the sender and the subject of the email. The actuall body of the email is not there. Is there any fix to this or the pop accoune error or is anyone having these problems as well? Thanks for your time and help.

Well, I have the same problem as you, but I found a decent work-around:

First of all, the problem only occurs with some email that is from other AOL members. Email from other domains is usually fine. The problem is that the AOL Mail program cannot read HTML email. Starting with AOL Windows version 6.0 and later, users are allowed to use different fonts, colors, and type sizes in their email. As a result of this, all email written with AOL 6.0 and later is sent in a HTML format even if the user is writing plain text. So therefore, any email send from AOL version 6.0 or later cannot be read by the Sidekick's AOL Mail program. However, if an AOL user writes mail from an older AOL version, or from the web interface, or even from another Sidekick AOL Mail program, then you will be able to read it fine.

For me, this is only affects a small percentage of my email, since most of my friends use yahoo, hotmail, or other domains for their email. And also, any other email, such as the "topic reply allerts" received from HowardForums, can be read just fine.

So for the work-around, use the AOL Mail program. When you receive an email which you cannot read due to the above reason, simply forward it to your tmail address and then several seconds later, you will be able to read it using the regular Sidekick email program which can read HTML email.

All other functions of the AOL Mail program such as Forward, Delete, Keep as new, etc. all work fine.
