audiovox 8900 data cable

can somebody please help me
I'm about to flip out trying to get my computer to recognize this data cable that I purchased.
I bought it online, and it came with a driver disk, but it is not working for me.
The driver is by curitel, and I've downloaded it from other sites trying to install the driver.
PLEASE SOMEBODY COME TO MY RESCUE!!
