Does anyone have any idea of a program that can compress an mp3 file. I have a bunch of ringtones that i have made, but i can only get them to be about 12 seconds long, due to the size. Please let me know. Thx in advance.

I think I now what your asking , but you used the wrong term

you want smaller files that play longer..

you don't compress them..zipping a file is compressing it for storage

you need a program like 'audacity' to resample the file

you load the file of your choice

cut it to the desired section and length of time play

then when you 'save' the file or in the case of audacity you 'export' it as an MP3

you set the 'export' sample rate and BIT storage format to smaller numbers so that the save MP3 file uses less disc/memory
space

I use 16,000 sampling and 16 bit data storage

normal settings are usually

40,000 sampling and 128 bit storage

the difference is 10 fold

I have 30 k files where normal would be 300k or more#
