Well today we just got the sk2 in stock. Allthough I know it will not have the wheel issue or backlight issues or poor radio.
I don't think I have a urge anymore to get sk2 at all... Csk seems to be ok enough. Meaning if I decided to even keep a sk. It would be #1
Well there is a issue I can see in the sk2... I've seen it too many times with laptops and other handheld items with flip screen.
The cable that connects the device to screen. When I look at the sk2 and how it flips.. I don't like it. You can SEE the cable exposed! Sooner or later or one wrong move and your gonna mess that cable up. Or if it gets touched. Csk is well covered. But even with the sk2 closed. That under area is exposed. All you need is put it in your pocket with something or just out in open and it will get worn. Seen it too many times with other stuff I had. Ust screen goes darker or cable got messed up etc.. I mean sure no one has issues now but I feel it will be soon. I think sk2 could've had a better flip idea. Hell I thought it would've been a slider type screen that pushes up. That would've been nice and better imho.
Sure csk is at risk too with this flip screen. But if you carefully open it and close and not let it snap hard always into place you should be ok..
But anyone else think this too or that sk2 is really overrated?

honestly, the looks and hype is what's gonna sell the sk2. that's what got me and well the features are fine. but i have noticed the exposed lcd ribbon as well. ive had the same thoughts

my brothers, im a 1st hand sidekick user and dealer. I had the original csk and it was good, but it had its faults; the cheap radio, toy-like parts...ahh, i can go on...ahh, how people had 2 get up to 17 replacements...
But really, the sk2 is a GREAT upgrade. If you love the csk, youll love it because the radio is SO much better, additional speakerphone, and more buttons no navigation isnt so ambiguous. As far as the ribbon issue, i know what you mean. The wire is only exposed when the screen is open and u push it towards you. Otherwise its closed and the screen is held to the keyboard by a magnet when its closed. Thats why the wire only exposes itself as you open it, it reduces chance of pinching, A VERY BIG, problem with the csk, which had many peoples keyboards & screens shorting out on them. Just my .02 fellas

I have to agree on this. I especially agree with Mysticales on the little area that is open even when closed. This will easily collect dust and debris and eventually give way. I suspect the lifecycle of the SK2 to be 90 days. Yes it's a great upgrade from a horrible and poorly made device the SK. However when compared to other mobile devices even the SK2 is still horrible. I doubt I'm going to keep it, just not satisfied with the quality and don't have the will to exchange it 17 times a year. I hate using it as a phone. And the timer is way off, it begins as soon as you press send and then restarts itself after the call begins but is usually off. I've been missing so many calls from people when I'm browsing or chatting on AIM. Probably going to switch back to my 7610.
Also many issues including the SMS issue, the SYSLog and Privacy issue too. Then I read that the Desktop on mytmobile isn't even a SSL httpS site. And the lack of ringtones and other options. All hype and a bunch of celebs isn't enough for me
