Hi. Anybody know how to or of a good write-up on connecting a slider to a mac. I've been all over howardforums and have found some info but nothing that was totally clear.

I'm on a mac running OS 10.3.5. As far as I've read, BitPim is the only app. that will work with the mac. I've also read that you need to use the LG vx600 data cable with the slider.

I've been trying with BitPim and the LG cable but my computer/BitPim is not recognizing my phone. The computer recognizes the cable while it's pugged into the usb port but that's it. I tried this write-up and tried to modify to work for my phone but it didn't work:

Any help? BeulZebob thanks you.

P.S. I'm trying to load some Mp3's and pics on my phone.

I have used (and do use) this same setup for months now. I cannot give exact setup details as I do not recall how I set it up, but I do know, as an important hint, that I use several versions of BitPM 6.2-7.13 to make the connection and upload. it seems that some versions will open the connection but not allow any changes (and vice versa), so then I quite it and open another version that will allow me to make changes, but not originally establish the connection. it is a finicky system at best, but seems to be the way it is.

I also use 10.3.5, lg USB cable from radio Shack usinf Kyocera Drivers posted on these forums and BitPM (different versions) on a SE47.

OS x will see the cable as you say, but try the different versions of BitPM to get the phone to be accessed.

etard, do you only use BitPim to manipulate your slider? If not, which others? Did you have to download any other helpers like Macpython or pyserial?

Thanks.

on my Mac's I never have or do use anything other than BitPiM.

on my PC, I have used Gagin, BitPim and the Kyocera desktop. BitPim to add and alter the Phone and Kyocera desktop for backing up contacts. Gagin just to try, bu tliked BitPim better.
