Hey guys!

Big question here, ive looked in many forums including hofo, hiptop.com and a few others and i cant find the answer to this question!

I currently own a Fido Hiptop (1) Colour CSK. Can I purchase a unlocked Tmobile Sidekick 2 from EBAY, pop my sim card into it and it'll work with full functionality on FIDO?

I would assume this would work because Fido uses danger's servers anyways for the hiptop? Does this make sense? Why hasnt anyone posted on this topic! Please someone respond, im trying to get a sidekick 2, and if i cant do it on fido can i be a canadian citizen and signup for tmobile? Someone let me know..

I doubt it. T-Mobile has done a lot of stuff to customize the SK.

I mean, you *might* be able to get it onto the Fido network if you put the hiptop onto Fido's backend servers using the right APN, but I don't know for sure.

And, it's not Danger's servers exactly, it's T-Mobiles and Fido's servers that use Danger's backend. They're not the same.

I noticed when I got the SKII that it's APN was different than the CSK's APN. So, it's possible it's an entirely different backend.

At any rate, I wouldn't trust that it would work at all. Sorry.

this has been discussed already in this forum and the answer is NO. I wanted the greyscale version when it was just sidekick and not colour 3 years ago thinking of unlocking it and getting to work over here.. no it just isnt programmed to work on fido network then is in agreement with dangers server only the csk1 is
