Hi all,
I just received a charging USB data cable I ordered from some web site called 123usb.net. Prior to this, I had been using FutureDial's cable, but carrying around multiple battery packs was getting on my nerves so I decided to bite the bullet and pick up one of these. From my first impression, it seems to charge the phone as I notice the "beeping" sound similar to the sound when my standard charger is plugged in. It was a bit cheaper at $12 than I paid for FutureDial's cable at $29.99 and works just fine connecting to the internet, but does anyone know if this will damage my phone battery? Anyone have any experience with these types of cables? One of my friends purchased one of these charging cables from ebay and said everytime he would charge his phone, after a short duration, the phone would get extremely hot when it was inactive. When I charge my phone with this cable, the temperature of the phone remains constant, so I guess that's a good thing? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry for any of those who read my post and bought the cable. I just went back to the site and within a weeks time, they cut the price of the cable in half and are offering free shipping as well. My apologies.

I've heard that the charging data cable may damage the phone or the battery. Is this true?

To the best of my knowledge, the first charging data cables that were produced by some overseas companies damaged several people's phones. From what I read, this was due to cheap insulation and fabrication of the cables, and it ended up damaging the battery of the mobile phone. Don't let this discourage you. I've had my charging cable for awhile now and I am very happy with it. I've left it charged overnight several times and the battery is still in the same shape as the day I bought it. There are a few retailers out there that offer cables, I would suggest purchasing one from a retailer that has some credibility and avoiding a few companies on ebay that sell them. Hope this helps

received my charging cable for my sanyo 7300 and it works fine. Didn't come with drivers though, not that I needed them. Thanks for the good buy OP
