SCP-5300 vs SCP-5500 IM Forwarding

I have a question about IM forwarding. When I used to use this feature on my scp-5300, I used to get the IMs within secs (5- 10 secs max) now that I change my phone to the SCP-5500, it takes between 2 minutes to 3 minutes to get the IM being forwarded to my cell phone. I even re-registered my cell phone number with the AOL IM forwarding service and I received that IM confirmation code within secs on my cell phone, but then I tried to IM myself with another account and it would take over 2 minutes to get the IM. Is there something I can do to make this work like in my old SCP-5300, in other words faster. Thanks.
