I just bought the phone and it works great. One newbie question: when "GPRS is use" icon is on, then I am charged with Data service fee or Voice minute fee? If the answer is Data service fee, is there anyway to use GPRS or WAP for free?

As long as you're not actually sending/receiving anything, you won't be charged if it's just connected.

You're using the SMT 5600 on T-Mobile?

no, it is on At&T.

Gotcha. Hadn't heard of a way to use free data on AT&T -- thought you were talking about T-Mobile.

Thanks. Anyway, I will return the phone back to AT&T. Bad reception inside my office and expensive Data charge. I will try cingular mpx220 a little bit later with the $7.99 data package.

Has anyone heard how to unlock this phone? I am thinking about getting it, but want to use it on T-Mobile. Otherwise I guess I will just have to wait until T-Mobile releases the SDA to the US
