in pocketpc world, you could change the device name to something with more flair than pocketpc.

i have been searching for the same thing in the mpx220 and can't find it.

i haven't setup my wife's mpx220, but i am wondering what will happen in activesynch since both will show up as smartphones?

Go get RJV RegTweaks UI, will allow you to change AS name, throw it on the miniSD, execute that on the new phone, change the name before connecting to the PC.

ahhh, I see, this phone is for computer geeks!!!!!

Thanks, will poke around the registry then.

Any hacks so the front display stays on? I like to use my phone as a $500 dollar watch and it's annoying to have to press a button to get the time to come on.

Unlike PPC, all Smartphones currently do not allow an easy method in changing device name, and that drove me nuts for awhile cause I had multiple units in front of me, and they are all named the same for AS purpose. The utility I pointed you to (couldn't post the correct link as Howard blanks out 3 of the letters) makes it real simple to change AS as well as BT name.

As for the backlight, I think someone wrote a patch to the backlight setting (may be over on modaco.com), but I'm sure that is for both inside & out.
