No Auto-Time Update on MPX220 or SMT5600?

I noticed that neither the MPX220 nor the Audiovox SMT5600 support auto-time update. Is this just a coincidence or is it a limitation of the OS?

Or maybe I missed how to enable it?

My unit had both the wrong time and date. Thought that was another defect. My I600 had no issue and seemed to be set when it connected to Verizon's network and was fine after that. Is this a Cingular issue since the OS should not have a problem.

Must be a phone problem. I use ATTWS.

There doesn't seem to be a setting for this that I can find, but the phone does sync to the provider's clock. I set my phone 5 minutes ahead about an hour ago, now its back in-sync with atomic time.

Typically with MS devices the time synchronizes with the computer you most recently ActiveSync'd with. I don't know if this is because it "has to be" that way yo make synchronization work, or just because it is that way.

To put another way, on my previous MS devices, even if it were set automatically, Network time wouldn't last through the first AS session.

The trick is to make sure your PC is set to sync to a good time server.

There's a setting in ActiveSync that you can check to specify that you want your phone's clock sync'd with your PC's clock upon every sync session.

Keeping the PC time accurate seems to be much easier via atomic clock update utilities.
