Can't get 5600 & HS820 working [crosspost]

Sorry for the cross-post but I'm really trying to figure this out and I figure some of the people here might not read the bluetooth forum and that you might know the phone a little better.

I just got an Audiovox 5600 and a Motorolla HS820 hedset and for the life of me I can't get them working together. The 5600 refuses to see the 820. I read both instruction manuals, but they were both a bit vauge. Here's what I've got set:

On the 5600 under settings:

Bluetooth = Discoverable (I've also tried it with just "On")
DeviceName = AduivoxSMT5600
Beam authentication/Authentication (Passkey) required = unchecked
ActiveSync setup/Choose checkbox to setup = unchecked
Recieve incoming beams = checked (I don't know if this has anything to do with anytying, but I figured it can't hurt)

Both are fully charged and the headset is on (the led is flashing every few seconds), and the 5600 led is flashing blue every few seconds as well.

To do a scan I choose:

Settings->Bluetooth->Bluetooth->Menu->Devices->Menu->New

After a few seconds it comes back with "No devices were found...".

This is my first smartphone and my first experience with bluetooth, so I could be doing something wrong, but I have no idea what else to try. Help?
