i830 ringtones coming out choppy

i downloaded some ringtones and converted the to 8 bit, mono, 8000hz and when i try to play them on my phone, after like 10 seconds the song starts to skip and get choppy... does anyone know what im doing wrong?
im using webjal , dbampconverter, usb cable
