CDM9900.. Should the #5 key be a little lower than the others?

I got my CDM9900 in the mail today, and after playing around with it (really nice phone), I noticed the #5 key is a little "lower" than the others.

Is this done intentionally, so that it's a reference point, or should the #5 key be "flush" with the others in terms of height?

Thanks!

Just got my 9900 the other day, and yes, it is a really nice phone. The earphone is good and clear, and of course the main screen is something else.

I tried searching other threads in regards to the recessed -5- button, but couldn't find any mention of this anywhere else. You might be right, it could be done to have some kind of reference point, maybe when you're doing text messaging or something like that. It does have a little nub in the middle of it like the -F- and -J- keys on a keyboard. Thought I had pressed too hard and messed it up while putting numbers in the phonebook.
Who knows ....

Did get WAP to work on it, using the guidance found on some other threads.

Some other things that come to mind are the fit of the battery and its cover. Creaks some when you handle the phone. Kind of ruins a really nice unit if you ask me. Another thing is the finish of the phone. Seems kind of slippery, which might promote dropping it at some time or another.

Oh yeah, locking the phone shouldn't be a drawn-out six key process. All the other phones I've had have required maybe one key press and the phone is locked.

But all in all, a nice unit.

Heya, thanks for the reply.. It's re-assuring to know that this "lowered" #5 key in intentional.. After looking at the image on the outside of the box, you can see the key is lowered there too..

It's almost as if it's "inverted", and I think the intention is for it to be some sort of reference point.

I, too, thought it may have been jammed while being shipped, as I haven't used the #5 key much at all, but if yours is also like that, then I'm thinking this is intentional, and not a flawed/broken key.

It's nice to hear, and puts my mind at ease. Thanks!
