This is killing me. I have read tons of webpages and tutorials about different phones, but can not get mine to work. I have the correct USB data cable.

I have tried the software on LG's site which kind of works but will not let me put .midi files on the phone. I have downloaded .midi's before and they worked so I know that is not the problem. The LG software thinks it has to be .mmf format.

I have tries QPST, Brewsky, BitPim, all to no avail. So if you have any info that would help me I would highly appreciate it.

Thanks
John

I am having a similar experience with the G4050. I am new to this so I just chalked it up to ignorance on my part but I am having a terrible time finding info for this model. Anyone have suggestions about where to start? I'd like to understand the termininolgy and hardware and everything else I don't know yet. For example I think I figured out that the term GSM applies to my phone as type of operating system or communication standard for tranferring data to and from the phone but as you can tell I have no clue. I bought a usb data cable, installed the drivers, installed bitpim and qpst but all I seem to be able to do is charge the phone's battery with the cable. I'd like to know enough to tell if I got a bum cable or I just don't have the right drivers but I am having difficulty finding a place that all the basic info in one place or doesn't assume I already know a bunch of stuff. I know you get slammed with new people asking these questions but I'm hoping someone would be willing to simply point me to where I can read up and learn from the start on my own. Not that I wouldn't accept someone saying "here download this and you'll be able to change the ringtones on yer phone" or anything.
