**GREETINGS**

i have spent about a week searching this forum and have not been successful in finding an answer for my problem..<>so i'm going to throw it out there..i pray someone can help me out..

im using webJAL R01.01.03 with my i830

i've been able to load .wav tones and .gif wallpapers but...

i've downloaded several .mid tones from NEXTPIMP.com

and everytime i try to download them to my i830

after it finishes transferring, i get a message stating:

"A general communication error occured while communicating to the phone. Please verify the connection between the computer, phone and cable as well as your preference settings. In addition you may try setting the phone Baud Rate to 19200."

AGAIN::i only get this when trying to download .mid files<>so it's not any connections because i can just select a .wav file and it will work fine<>i've also changed to Baud Rate on the phone and i get the same error message

and AGAIN::these are all .mid files downloaded directly from NEXTPIMP.com's MIDI RINTONES section
=============================================

ANY LUCK?

The reason you're getting that message is that it is not formatted. Convert it to type-0 midi and you should be good to go.

Hrmm.. I have tried both type 1 and type 0 midis and I still get an error trying to WAP server my ringtones (Using Coding Workshop's Ringtone Wizard). My error is 406, which ultimately translates to unsupported type.

Any suggestions?

So far..no luck in loading MIDI's i've downloaded from Nextpimp using WebJAL. I am unfamiliar with the Coding Workshop Ringtone application you are referencing.

From what everyone says..the MIDI's on Nextpimp.com should already be formatted in Type 0 and ready to load.

Anyone download MIDI's from Nextpimp.com and successfully load them onto their phone? Do they need to be re-formatted?..and if so, how/which application do you use to re-format them?

So far, i've only been successful in loading .wav ringtones..

someBODY<><>anyBODY<><>???

mike is right , you have to rename them , but if they are not formatted use anvil studio , its free and real easy to use , i was having the same problem then downloaded that earlier today and converted them to type 0 and it worked .

Thanks to all that helped me , i appreciate it .
