Long time no post...I signed on just for this one.....Dude I dont want to be an @$$hole or anything, but no one wants to answer a post they cant FU*k*ng read! Seriously, take at least 2 seconds before hitting that "Post" button and edit ur *uc*ing text!!!

As for your question yes, you can create your own voice tones or "Dead Ringers". Creating said ringer can be considered a long task, so it will really be up to weither you want to do it or not. How? Well, their is this GREAT little tool that came around when the internet was getting big. That tools is the one and only GOOGLE master of all that is search. Search......thats quite a w0rd. Hmmmm. Ah Yes! I remember now. A big orange button, towards the top of the page with the letters S E A R C H on it. Click that for starters. Your question has been asked before. The answers you get out are only as good as the ones put in.

My $.02

I like this software: http://www.xingtone.com

Not bad for 20 bucks you can make unlimited ringtones from your own MP3's.

Just so I have this straight...

MP3s are only supported on Qualcomm chipsets? My friend has the much older LG VX6000 and is able to use BitPim to send an MP3 directly to the phone, whereas my VM4500 complains that an MP3 is not a valid file type.

There is no way to get around this restriction? I could understand with older phones like my old LG5350 that had such a lousy speaker it would distort even midi's at high volumes.

QCPs sound like crap, plain and simple. An MP3 of the lowest quality (8Khz, 8-bit) sounds much better than a QCP conversion at 8Khz, 16-bit.

When I bought this phone, I (apparently foolishly) assumed that we were moving forward with the technology.

Does anyone know what phones actually support the MP3 format, and what the ratio is to (new) phones that don't support them? What sort of chipset does the Sanyo VM4500 use?
