Originally posted by whiskey888 App selection is pretty weak on WM2003 Smartphone Edition. You can't use normal WM2003 or WM2003 "phone edition" applications. The app must be specifically designed for Smartphone Edition due to the smaller no-touch screen. This means no pocket word, no pocket money, no shell enhancements, etc. This pretty much limits you to: - Clearvue suite for ms office files (haven't tried it on smartphone edition, it probably stinks) - Repligo (indispensible document viewer, can easily convert PDFs, web pages, word docs, etc.) - One existing AIM/etc. IM client (I forget the name) - Betaplayer (awesome divx/xvid video player) - Resco photo viewer - a handful of games, ranging from awful to ok - built-in apps such as MSN messenger, Pocket IE, camcorder, photo album, voice recorder, Pocket outlook & calendar, solitaire, jawbreaker You might find a few other apps here and there, but that's basically it! IMO, a phone such as the Audiovox 5600 is best for basic PIM, multimedia playback, very basic internet, document reading, and PDA/laptop tethering via bluetooth. Text entry is incredibly painful on this thing. If you want anything more, you should consider a PPC phone edition, treo, or a "real" PDA. |
Totally forgot about not having a touchscreen
