HELP! Noobe here. Tried to flex my unlocked (vodafone) v525 with PST and it stops at 3%. and errors out I did the PST install with with update, and was able to transfer the phones settings before the flex. Now I have most of the vodofone OEM stuff gone, but I don't think the phone took all of the flex.

The two things I have found that are not working are; the camera, and the sound. Trying to capture a photo will crash the phone, and I have no sound at all. No DTMF tones, no start up sounds, no ringing....

Any ideas?

My first piece of advice is don't panic! (easier said than done).

Uninstall PST. Restart PC. Install PST inc patch.

Reflex v525.

Should work ok if not let me know.

I had the same problem the first time i flexed my v525.

Thanks for the help. I did the unload, and found the new version and patch (v 7.1 something). That did the trick! I re-flexed the v525 and everthing went through.

My only problem left is I can't seem to set individual ring tone setting for text messages, voicemail, etc. I just can't seem to get into that menu. Other than that everything works like a charm!!

Did you delete any ringtones?

If you did you will need to do the following...

Use P2Kman to upload the silent tone seems below.
Delete TempToneDB.db & MyToneDB.db and restart the phone.
If it still does not work you need to do a Master Reset.
Make sure you back up all your data before doing a Master Reset!

I tried the upload of the 2 seems you sent, and deleated the 2 files you suggested, but no luck. I still can't access the Ring Details under Ring Styles.

Before I do a master reset, what should I backup? I did my contacts, calender, tasks, using MPT. Do I need to backup any "seems" or files on the phone? Also, will I lose my WAP and MMS/SMS setting?

You will need to backup Contacts, Calender, non standard ringtones and any pictures you have taken. You will lose all those plus games and voice commands.

I think thats it! It's what I do anyway.

Did you alter the gaintable.bin file? If so you might need to change the attributes for it so it doesn't get deleted when you Master Clear/ Reset your phone.

Yes, I altered the gaintable.bin file to get rid of the tones on the side keys. I remember reading about adding a "4" to the seem of the gain table so it won't be erased; is that correct? Or can I just read the gaintable.bin and save it then upload it after the reset?

Also, will I lose my WAP/SMS/MMS settings?

You must change the attribute to a 4.

You will lose MMS and WAP settings. Unless you backup your WebSessions file in system (I think). You should not lose SMS settings.

I got it done!!!!! v525 flexed to a v600. Everything works, and I was able to save the mod that silenced the side keys. I can't find anything wrong with it. I have it in my car, with the Motorola installed car kit. So I have handsfree through the non-bluetooth car kit, and use the bluetooth so I can connect my laptop to the Internet. In fact I am using that setup to send this reply.

thanks for all the help. This was my 1st mod, so I needed all the help I could get.

Now that the phone working great........I think I am going to upgrade to a v551 fir the EDGE system.
