How do i do a complete reset on a 7100?

I bought a used one and still has some previous user information.

Two ways:
1) Set a password. Enter it incorrectly 10 times. Customer data (not the OS and apps) will be deleted. Please note that you will have to enter the word "Blackberry" twice along the way.
2) Start the Desktop Manager and Application Loader. Click through until your get to the "Advanced" option; there is an option there to wipe out the data.
Personally, I use the password method.

Actually, all you have to do (as far as I know) is go into Options (or Settings) and go to Security and in there go into the menu and select Wipe Device.

You are quite right - that got added in v3.8 for the 7100ts. I forgot about that. Does that get rid of data only or data and applications?

No idea, honestly. I've not had a reason to use that.
