BELL MOBILITY - Audiovox 8910 dl Pics to PC w/ cable

I finally figured it out.
I transfered all the pictures saved on my cell phone to my PC.
For all the non-Bell users, the pics transfer was made impossible by Bell on these Audiovox phones so they could charge $0.50/pic + airtime and picture messaging storage fees.
All the Software you need for this process:
QPST (download link: http://phone.sphereshards.com/QPST2_7.zip) **Preffered
or BitPim
Curitel Drivers
Your data cable. You can get a cheap one from Ebay. I'm using the LG6000 Data Cable I got of ebay, and it has the serial box in the middle of the cable.
Also, you might need the lock code for your phone using the QPST method... I'm not too sure about this, but when I did this with the lock code, I was successful.
1) Install the Curitel Drivers
2) Plug your phone into the USB Port.
3) Follow the installation instruction to install your phone.
WITH QPST:
Assuming you have installed this software...
4) go to Start > Programs > QPST > QPST Configuration
5) Then click on "Ports Tab": u will see COM1 and COM2.
Click on Add and type in COM4 for both places
it will then show COM4 Enabled and will show your phone info. If it doesn't, try using the same procedure of adding ports and use COM3, COM5, etc until you get ur phone info shown.
6) Go back to Start > Programs > QPST > EFS Explorer
Then it will show your phone.
HERE'S THE CONFUSING STEP:
7) At this point, in the SPC box, I put the lock code I got from the dealer, and the program worked. When I tried the default values (000000) I got this msg: "Please Wait..... takes 10 seconds" and then I got nothing showing for the directories.
8) It's easy from here on. You now have your directories on the left side. Click on Camera>Photo and you got all your pictures showing on the right. You can right click on any of them and save them.
WITH BITPIM:
Assuming you have installed BitPim
4) Go to Start>Programs>BitPim>BitPim
5) Go to Edit>Settings
6) Phone Type: LG-VX6000
COM Port: 3 (4,5,etc... depends on which port you have ur phone hooked up to)
Click on OK
7) Go to View>View FileSystem
8) Click on the small "+" button. Other directories will open up.
Click on the "+" beside Camera, then "+" of Photo, and all your pics are there... right click on them and save them to your hard drive.
Enjoy!

I just can't get this to happen. Are there any tricks that I'm missing or something?
I have installed the drivers, the PC sees the phone when I turn it on.
When I run BitPIM and watch the debug log you can see the software trying to talk to the phone but it seems to hang in the negotiation.
If I try QPST, it just doesn't see the phone at all, even though it sees the active Curitel port which on my computer is COM6.
When I open the EFS Explorer, the phone does not appear, the list is blank.
I've read through a bunch of the postings but I just can't seem to find that I'm doing anything wrong.
