Hi, I just got this phone and was wondering why I only get around 1-2 bars sometimes 3, when my brother has SCP-8100 which both except the same signals, but he gets a constant 4 bars. Should i consider getting a different phone for better signal?

New to cell phones, confused I am.

Thanks,
CMW

i noticed in the sprint store that the 7300 would register 3 bars while the other phones, including sanyos, would register 4. i bought it anyways to see, and even when having no bars just the signal symbol, i am making clear calls.

for example, in my basement, where my nokia showed 2 bars (out of 7) almost every call would break up real bad and/or drop. with 0-1 bar on the 7300 i am making 40 minute phone calls regularly this last week. sure it breaks up HERE AND THERE but rarely, and i have dropped one call. for some reason i think this sanyo has a more realistic signal strength showing than other models, including other sanyos.

Oh ok, I was thinking about just going to sprint to cancel my contract since its only been 1 week so that i can come back when the 7400 is out and get that one instead. Ahh Im the worse decision maker in the world lol sucks

after having the sanyo 5300 for like a year and a half i only used the camera like the first 3 months and not after so i didnt see the reason to wait for the 7400. i dont really care for watching tv on my cellphone since it just eats batteries and i'm not the biggest fan of tv as it is. the voice dialing was cool without having to program it but i mostly just use voice dial when i drive with my headset and the turbo button, and i have way more than enough voice dials that i can program for that since i dont use my phone for business. so since i needed a phone now, and wanted to save $130 bucks, the 7300 seemed wise since i wanted a rugged phone. i also really wanted a good speakerphone and the 7300 one is top notch.

i figure in another year when they come out with a ruggedized phone that has a megapixel plus camera on it then i will probably upgrade and maybe sell my 7300 for 100 bucks or just keep it as backup. the mm7400 to me, since i did not want a vga camera, was just not groundbreaking enough. ill wait for generation two of the camera ruggedized phones and get myself another 512mb of ram with the $130 saved

Good point, I think that was the kind of answer i needed to hear. I was thinking ahh might as well just keep it and wait till 18months is up and upgrade to a even better phone.

cool. but if u really want to be able to take pics (unlike me) then u may want to reconsider. other than that if u like the 7300, id say wait for the next gen stuff
