I just bought a treo 600 on ebay att branded but supposed to be unlocked. Does anyone know if now that att and cingular have merged if its not unlocked would they unlock it for me? I have a cingular acct and sim.

try this

dialpad typing *#*#94213166# then dial (or send)

make the sure the sim of the provider its locked to is inside the phone.

My Treo says that the sim was no unlocked when I inputed the code.

yeah i punched the code in while i had an att sim in and it said the sim was unlocked. however, i placed a tmobile sim in right afterwards and it said that the sim could not be used.

i did it on a cingular treo and it accepted an ATT sim afterward.

as long as you can sync/send stuff to your treo i think you should be fine...i don't have one and i haven't tried tha patch, so i suggest reading about the procedure at some of the palm forums.

Your Cingular treo would have accepted any SIM as Cingular treo are not locked.

The code only tells you if your phone is locked or not. You need the patch to unlock it.
