Originally posted by rossoneri 1. convergence is actually an annoyance instead of an advantage. Example: You are working on something on your PDA when the phone rings and the application closes for the phone app to open up. The convergence factor also means that more things can go wrong at once 2. a little too big as a phone: holding the treo 600 to your ear for long conversations is a pain in the ×××. 3. low res screen: the "wow" factor wears off fast because the screen is so crap. i like my toys to look beautiful. the treo's screen is NOT. 4. no wifi. Palm1 promised it would be there in the form of SDIO cards. didn't happen. 5. Slow processor. 6. low internal memory. 7. non-replaceable battery. 8. need to get too many third party applications to tweak the treo to make it perfect. it's not perfect out of the box. (example: treo butler, call filter or lightwav, profeo freeware stuff, maybe even a launcher app like Zlauncher). this means that numerous 3rd party apps have to work together flawlessly- which rarely happens and then u get constant resets etc. i've had enough. 9. answering the phone is like turning on a computer. i have to open my metal case, and hit the touchscreen. on a regular phone, i can just hit one button and bang. i know that these are not the general bad points of the treo 600. these are what made ME get rid of it. so don't bother attacking me and saying "you suck" or what not lol. In the treocentral forum, this is is exactly what would happen. oh finally: as an mp3 player it is pretty ×××× good. just hope you don't get a call in the middle while listening to an mp3 as the ringtone rips your ear drums out.

No "You suck!" remarks here. Plus there's the reasoning about if one component breaks down, what happens then? |
Originally posted by rossoneri that's the problem. I mean, if one part of the convergence device dies, the whole thing is crippled. there are just too many things that can go wrong. if you look in the treocentral forums, you'll see how many people had to send their treos back to get refurbished units with one flaw or the other - buzzing speaker, orange screens, poor RF, resets, etc etc. the list goes on. what i need in a PDA? yah, not entry level. no chance - i am on hofo!lol something that is fun to use and not a pain to look at. should play mp3s, video. i use a lot of PDF files on the go and the treo screen sucked for that and document editing. too slow too. i hated the slow proc speed. |

Originally posted by rossoneri no the 650 didn't address many of the problems. it has a high res screen. still no WIFI. i wouldn't get another convergence device in a while unless it is basically a mini laptop. since i like gadgets anyway - the more gadgets the better

Or, you could get the Endora Wifi case.

Originally posted by rossoneri i can't stand the design of the tungsten C. the only reason i settled for the T3 was because i traded the treo for it with someone on a forum. i had a lot of offers for trades but that was the best one and i decided not to wait any longer and trade. ![]() tell me how your wifi experiences with the t3 are? |

Originally posted by candygogo Well, until I dropped it and it started to go bananas, I didn't have any problems with it. The screen is terrific, I LOVE the slider design/virtual graffiti area. One thing is that not all programs will take advantage of the extra screen space. WiFi works great, but like I said the battery will be drained with a quickness. When I get some extra loot, I'm investing in the Power-To-Go sled which gives you extra hours of power time and it's rechargable. I bought the battery extender (long black case that holds 4 aa batts) that's supposed to charge but it does ×××× all when using WiFi--I guess the wireless use is too much. |
