1x Indicator on Treo 600 Verizon

Okay, so here's the deal... I purchased a Treo 600 from Verizon and am quite contented with it at this point in time.

I noticed however that the 1x indicator does not illuminate at all. I'm allowed to surf the internet and talk on the phone.

The manual does say that a 1x indicator should light up when service is available. My previous phone was an LG 6000 and the 1x was contstantly on in my area.

Is the indicator supposed to light up on the 1x? They sent me a refurb which I sent back as that too did not have the 1x.

A rep at VZW locally has the 1x indicator on his. Is my account incorrectly set up? Was this eliminated? Does anyone have any inside scoop with regards to this?

He also has another client with the same problem. I've contact VZW Data to no avail...

My Treo 600 has 1X showing on the screen and has always had it.

Check out this thread on Treo Central.

Apparently it's missing from PRL 50203.

I'm on 50202 and have the indicator.

That would appear to have answered my question. Greatly appreciated.

Has anyone updated to the newest PRL (50210)?

Does it solve this issue?

I just updated to PRL 50210 and I've lost my 1x indicator.

What's going on? I just did a *228 item 2 and I now have PRL 50209. Previously I had 50210.

50209 fixed the missing 1x indicator on the treo that was present in 50210.

I just did an ota update again (I was at prl 50210) and it's now 50209 and there is a 1x indicator. Hmmmm..... fascinating...
