Siemens Phones with Bluetooth?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Does Siemens make a cell phone that is Bluetooth enabled? I've always had Siemens cell phones and love the format and functionality of them. But all my friends use Bluetooth and I wasn't sure if Siemens made a phone with Bluetooth. Do you know if they make one and what model it is? Also, do you know what exactly I can do with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone. Thanks guys...I appreciate any response.

S65 and SX1 have BT.

Also the SK65 which is coming very soon (qwerty/blackberry one, without camera)

The only problem is that it s speed is 7kbps( nokias is about 35kbps)

And the S55 has BT...

Do you think with the 7kbps speed, it's even worth buying a Siemens phone with Bluetooth...how prohibitive will this slow speed be?

Its better to have Bt with 7kbps then no BT at all

7 kbps? Check your bluetooth classes.

How can I check my BT class? What is the BT speed on your s56?

Well I mean BT class as in the level of the equipment, e.g., long-range bluetooth adapters are Class 1 adapters. The class of the S56 is listed in the manual; but I don't know it off hand.

Honestly, I don't know because I rarely use Bluetooth, only to send my contact info to a few people and occasionally to send a ringtone.

How did you test the speed of your BT?

Are you sure you don't have any other equipment potentially interfering, such as wireless internet routers, or a cordless phone which operates on the 2.4 GHz band?

When I transfer files from pc to mobile I use original BT sw and it shows speed 6.7 - 7.2kbps.
I have an wireless internet router but I dont think that its interfering because I have read on club-siemensm forum that other users have the same transfer speed

Does it take you a long time to transfer files to your computer with the 7.2kbps speed? I just want to make sure I will be getting my money's worth on this phone.

Which phone are you talking about? With my SX1 I use a card reader for my memory card for big transfers like music. For small things such as sending a picture BT is just fine. I've been using BT the most lately with an app called Puppetmaster, which allows me to control some programs on my PC with my phone via BT. Pretty slick.

What apps can be controlled by the PuppetMaster program you mentioned?

Posted by: 4mula1

I can use it with

WinAMP
iTunes
Windows Media Player
Powerpoint
Outlook

And some other apps I don't have installed like PowerDVD.

Check it out at http://www.lim.com.au/PuppetMaster/

is there any other programs out there that do what the puppetmaster does...or is it one of a kind?

There are others, but I don't know their names off the top of my head. PuppetMaster now has versions for:

Series60
Java via Bluetooth
Java via GPRS
MS Smartphone
UIQ

It's had a very steady rate of progress and the author is more than happy to hear your suggestions.

If you want to know of the other similar programs try searching for "remote control" in the Series60 forum.
