First off i have a treo 600.... I bought a 128 MB sd card and reader as well as pocket tunes and lightwave... I edited the mp3 to the part i want for the ringtone and saved it as a .wav... i converted it back to mp3 format to save space on the SD card... I can play the file through pockettunes but when i go to lightwave the program can't find it. I tried reading the manual for lightwave but it says to "refresh" and it will find the songs but nothing ever comes up... PLEASE HELP... i didn't wanna spend all this xtra cash for nothing lol.. also is there a way to put a different ringtone for each one of my "favorites" ?? thanks in advance !!!

First off are you using the trial version of Lightwav? If so, the files must be smaller than 1 MB. The trial version will not recognize files larger.

If you are using the full version make sure you're files are in a folder named "AUDIO" on the SD card.

Not only can you assign ringers to your favorites but with Lightwav you can assign a different ringtone to any contact in your address book. In Lightwav hit menu, then contact preferences.

I bought the full version from the website... i loaded the files into the Audio folder i created and have gotten them to show up.. i changed the ringtone under the treo tab but it still wount play ?? i hear the regular treo ringtone instead.... any help ?

1. Make sure you have Lightwav "enabled" This is done by checking the box for enable Lightwav in it's preferences.

2. You need to set the regular Treo ringer to "silent" then you'll only hear the Lightwav ringer.

For simple mp3 ringtones (only want one ringtone regardless of who is calling), I highly recommend Phone Technician. Far less buggy than Lightwav.

For specific tones for different people, Check out Call Filter.

You should be able to find both at PalmGear.com, but CallFilter has it's own forum at mytreo.net.

Also, check out discussion.treocentral.com for more in depth discussion on the Treo with far more discussion than you'll find here.

lol im a He thanks.... i don't know what else to do...

It's still not working?

You definetly have it enabled?

Well, if it was purchased from PalmGear, I believe he has 14 or so days to return it. There are many dissatisfied customers who purchased Lightwav, but have since moved on to other alternatives, many cheaper.

The reason I bring it up is that (as was with my case) Lightwav was a big problem in getting mp3 ringtones...whether due to buggy software or a lacking user manual.

At some point, you have to weigh the costs of looking towards a different solution and the time you keep sinking into an issue like this.

enable it ?? maybe that's my problem.... how do i enable it ??

AH, now we're getting somewhere.

Menu, Lightwav Preferences.

There is a check box WHICH YOU NEED TO CHECK, which says ENABLE LIGHTWAV.

Did you get it working?

Posted by: onesickgt

yea i got it working except for the ringtone for each individual caller... i went to Lightwave/Treo/Contacts/Chris/Change tone and selected a tone from the sound tab.... only problem now is when he calls it still plays the sound i put for RingTones under the treo tab ?? sorry if im a pain..

May be here somewhere, but I haven't found it.

Any way to get the mp3 ringtones on the phone itself rather than storing on the SD card? I've got 7 tones that I use, and downloaded a program called Ringo. Everything works fine, but if I want to use the slot for a program card I lose my ringtones. Anyway to do this?
