SX1 DTMF problems

Frequently this phone will prevent me from issuing DTMF tones while in a phone call. 
This makes it impossible to check VM, Telephone banking, etc.
The only way around it - reset the phone.
There is the OPTION menu to issue 1 DTMF tone at a time, but that really isn't pratical as it takes about 10 keystrokes to issue 1 tone.
Anyone else have this?
FW 12 - International English.
Also - anyone get out of memory errors when there is still tons of memory? Happens with some emails.
