Treo 600 email question

To send and receive emails from a Treo 600, you have to have a data package on your cell account, correct? Since the Treo 600 is not WiFi, I am assuming this.

If you have a Treo 600 and Cingular, can you use email w/Yahoo Mail etc if you just have the cheap media.net service which is wap I think
