e398 really slooooow...anything i can do about it?

Just bought the e398 but it seems awfully slow to dial, open up menus, hang up, actually to do everything.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to fix it? Or do I have to live with it?

Also, has anyone considered the Sony Ericsson k700? That was my 2nd choice and now I'm thinking about getting that one instead.
